Phil Alan Simpson, the artist ofEcclesiastes (War Wagon), describes the work to be "based on the idea that Ecclesiastes is supposed to be the only chapter in the Bible that is based on reason instead of faith. Thinking about war changes things." The work is a celebration of life being on earth. Incorporating flags and sun, Ecclesiastesrecalls the times of the Romans, reminiscent of a chariot with banners. Ecclesiastes was originally a part of a temporary exhibition, but was purchased by CVA in conjunction with the Friends of Page-Walker in the spring of 2008.
