2009 Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition Best in Show: Alvin Frega's "Chalice"

The winner of the $5,000 grand prizewinner was annouced during the Town of Cary's Lazy Daze festival; Congratulations to Alvin Frega of Durham, whose piece, "Chalice" was awarded "Best in Show." In selecting "Best in Show," Juror Linda Dougherty observed, "With an intuitive sense of scale and composition, and highly skilled craftsmanship, Al Frega transforms found objects and industrial materials into a powerful, evocative sculpture--a monument to everyday life--that references manual labor, the machine age, ceremonial objects, and iconic forms

Anthony Blackman recieves 2010 Business Support of the Arts Award

Cary Visual Art is pleased to announce Anthony Blackman as the recipient of the 2010 Business Support of the Arts Awards, sponsored by the United Arts Council and The Raleigh Chamber of Commerce for the individual category.

Cary Visual Art is excited to welcome British artist Helen Marshall to Cary, North Carolina, for her first project in the United States. Helen's work is heavily rooted in lens-based media.  She works on collaborative projects with people of all ages to encourage communities to be engaged in public art projects.

Winds of Inspiration: Cary Visual Art's 2009 Art Ball

The annual Art Ball, Cary Visual Art's primary fundraising event, is fast approaching! The 2009 Art Ball gala will take place on Saturday, November 21st, at the Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, North Carolina. This night, themed "Winds of Inspiration," will continue the tradition of honoring individuals who make a meaningful contribution to the Cary community, and will also be a celebration of the future of Cary Visual Art.
