2008 CVA Scholarship Winner: Nicholas Fair

Cary Visual Art, Inc. (CVA) is pleased to announce that Nicholas Fair, a graduating senior from Cary High School, has been selected to receive this year’s CVA Scholarship. Mr. Fair plans to attend North Carolina State University in the Fall, where he will study industrial design. He has been the recipient of multiple art awards, including first place for graphic design at the North Carolina State Fair; the Silver Key Award from Scholastic; third place in the Cary West Regional Photo Competition; and Honorable Mentions at both the Congressional Art Awards and the Cary Fine Arts Council Teen Competition.

The CVA Scholarship awards $1,000 per year for up to four years for higher education in the visual arts. This year, ten applications were received from students from across Wake County. Applicants were evaluated based on artistic merit, significant volunteer service to the arts, and intention to pursue an art related college curriculum. Since the scholarship’s inception in 2000, CVA has awarded 12 scholarships to Wake County students pursuing higher education in the visual arts.

"CVA is proud to recognize the contribution talented young artists bring to the Cary community and to help ensure their development through our scholarship program," says Todd Bryant, CVA’s previous Executive Director.
